On Repeat
I have this play list called "Repeat." Any song that I don't want to search for to listen to, I throw into that list. Insta-find, if you will.

Two songs are in that list right now:

"My Own Way Home" by Russel Allen and Jorn Lande. I heard it once Pandora and couldn't stop thinking about it.

"Home Sweet Home" by Carrie Underwood. I was watching the latest episode of Glee and two characters were talking, but I couldn't pay attention to what they were saying because of the song playing over the PA in the skating rink (the scene). I just kept thinking, "What the fuck is that, and why can't they shut up so that I can hear it?" I wrote down what lyrics I could make out and lo and fucking behold, I trip tits first into a country American-Idol-graduate song.

It can't be helped. I like it. A lot.

Now, as I'm listening to the both of these, back to back, I notice that both songs are about going home. How quaint?

Because of how rarely a single person would love both of these songs (progressive metal & country pop) so much as to play them together, I've provided a sampling of both choruses to show how similar they are:

But I won't lose my faith
I never have, I never will
I won't give up, I'm gonna find my own way home

Tonight's the night
I'm on my way, just set me free
Home sweet home

I've probably listened to them 60 times in the past 48 hours.
